Your Role as a Project Officer
As a Project Officer, you will be crucial in implementing the Grant Cycle 7 under GCNH. This role is dependent on the award of the Global Fund GC7 grant to GCNH as a Sub-recipient. Here’s what you need to know:
Position Overview
- Title: Project Officer
- Project: Global Fund Community Systems Strengthening – GCNH
- Locations: Ashanti Region and Eastern Region
- Duration: Initially 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding.
- Supervisor: Senior Technical Advisor/Project Coordinator
- Reports To: Team Lead
Key Responsibilities
- Project Design and Supervision: Design, guide, and oversee daily project activities, providing both administrative and technical supervision in the field.
- Work Plan Preparation: Develop quarterly work plans based on agreed targets.
- Monitoring and Liaison: Create and submit plans for monitoring community cadres and liaise with ART in-charge, HIV Coordinators, and other stakeholders.
- Community Cadre Meetings: Organize meetings with community cadres to assess work progress, address challenges, and review data.
- Logistical Support: Manage stock levels of project commodities and materials, ensuring timely delivery to beneficiaries.
- Capacity Building: Support continuous capacity building for community cadres, especially in data collection and syncing.
- Performance Appraisal: Collaborate with ART in-charges to appraise the performance of cadres, using evidence from M&E systems.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly project reports and other professional documents promptly.
- Online Presence: Register GCNH GC7 program activities on the GCNH website and major social media platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Content Development: Develop and publish content on significant activities during grant implementation.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as required.
What You Bring to the Table
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Education, Management, Informatics, Business Administration, Project Management, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field in Social Science.
- Professional Experience: At least three years of relevant work experience.
- Skills:
- Health Sector Knowledge: Experience working with the Ghana Health sector and health-related NGOs.
- HIV and Gender-Based Violence Understanding: Knowledge of these issues is crucial.
- Writing and Analytical Skills: Strong writing and analytical abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor language and style to different audiences.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and maintain effective relationships in a diverse environment.
- Client Orientation: Ability to understand client needs and offer appropriate solutions.
- Planning and Organizing: Skills in setting clear goals, anticipating risks, and adjusting priorities as necessary.
